Adults and children who are not safe in their own homes are accommodated for up to 90 days at the Safe Home for Abused Families, a residence maintained at a confidential location. The Safe Home is designed to meet the needs of the physically challenged. Alternate housing arrangements are made for those with special needs for whom the Safe Home is not the best location.
The goal of residency in the Safe home is one of learning to live a safe and independent life. Advocacy and counseling are provided in the Safe Home for both adults and children. Those staying at the Safe Home receive assistance and advocacy to meet their individual needs and secure and maintain their safety. This includes counseling, parenting, life skills development, legal services and case management, as well as other services provided by The Safe Center.
